You all rush to Emilia's aid as she continues to battle the mech. Despite the enormous size difference, she's doing surprisingly well, dodging or simply ignoring its propeller blade strikes as they slash through her entrails, and denting pistons and armor plates with her bare hands.

As soon as you've left the safety of the truck, however, the large-bore cannon turns to fire at Eigla. With a thunderous boom, the HE shell flies straight at her torso, exploding in a cloud of shrapnel and blood.

Grimacing, Eigla pulls she crumpled-up projectile from her destroyed cleavage, as the maggots immediately begin to crawl back into her body. She's gonna need new robes!

Rosa fires repeatedly at the war machine with her shoulder guns, forcing it to stop its assault and hunker down behind its metal wings. The others take the chance to get in close, but as soon as Eigla tries to tie the mech down with her Crawling Flesh, it uses its thrusters to hop away from danger.

Curie pokes her head out from the cargo bay, yelling.

Curie: "Hit its head, or it'll keep dodging! The Valkyrie series has auto-avoidance sensor packages!"

Emilia looks back, worriedly.

Emilia: "Klimt! Stay away, it's too dangerous! I can deal with this!"

I WANT YOU TO SURVIV-" Their conversation is interrupted by the Valkyrie, who swings its helicopter-like propeller around once more, barely hitting them as Eigla blocks it with her shield. The mech, realising is it outnumbered, activates its thrusters to gain some distance on the group, flying back and slamming hard against Rosa's head. She feels her skull begin to crack, and her jaw snaps clean off its socket, dangling precariously in front of her neck. The Valkyrie fires its autocannon once again, but Eigla stops the shell with her bare hands, before throwing it aside. Rosa tries to grit her teeth, but fails. Then she gets angry. This DAMN mech is REALLY getting on her BLOODY nerves! She feels her senses sharpening, and takes aim with her arm-sniper. A single bullet, placed precisely where needed, can change the course of history. In this case, said bullet hit the base of the mech's propeller, where a minuscule, nearly invisible crack had formed, from years of disuse and rust. Nearly invisible, at least, to someone without Rosa's expertise. The entire turbine detaches from the Valkyrie's arm, spinning like a saw blade as it hits it in the head, leaving a deep gouge in its armor and ripping off most of its sensors. The radome remains, however! Rosa drops into a prone position and begins unloading her shoulder cannons at the enemy, reducing its cracked cockpit to a mess of broken metal and glass, and completely ripping away the zombified arms. The Valkyrie stumbles back, unable to do anything but try and protect its vitals. The rain takes its toll on the party's spirits. Klimt feels like he's close to snapping and doing something reckless. Eigla steels herself, surprisingly calm despite the battle. Her confidence in her defensive skills in unwavering. Malia hums a happy tune and hops along. She couldn't be more relaxed! The Valkyrie fires its autocannon again, following it this time with two long bursts from its body-mounted miniguns, but Eigla is quick to jump between it and the others, deflecting the large shell with her shield and expanding her goo-like mass to absorb the bullets harmlessly. The mech revs up its engine, ready to do another hit-and-run maneuver on the group- Malia raises an eyebrow. The several-ton machine is suddenly thrown forwards as its thrusters misfire, landing squarely in the middle of the party. The group takes advantage of the opportunity to gang up on it, Rosa shooting her shoulder guns repeatedly, Eigla chopping with her sword, and Malia and Klimt pulling parts off with their snakes and tentacles, respectively. It's still a damn hard target to crack, mostly due to the way it expertly blocks strikes with its bulletproof wings. Rosa discards her broken jaw as a new one automatically grows to fill its place. It feels... Rough and sharklike, and brimming with even sharper teeth. She's truly become a monster, hasn't she? Humans don't have huge fish tails, or guns jutting out of their arms and shoulders. Rosa, wouldn't have those. Is she, even, Rosa anymore? Klimt can't see Emilia amid the chaos. Is she okay? Could she have been hit? Has he failed as her companion? Eigla keeps her cool. Despite its tough exterior, the mech is now entirely devoid of weapons. The battle is all but won. Malia thinks of a really funny joke, and begins smiling. Then she forgets it.
