I just tested this against my Tau faction...
As long as you can get a few shots off before you get hit with a gauss blast then you're going to kill the Necron...
Whether I should keep it balanced to the Necrons or balanced to normal play I don't know... Ah well, the Tau are weak as anyway, so it should be fine.

I thought the fluff was that Necron are insanely hard to take down with any normal sidearm in the 40k Universe.

I was using the Pulse Rifle.
It's the strongest standard weapon in WH40K.
I'll probably rebalance it when the Tau aren't as ridiculously fragile. For now they have to compensate by wielding ridiculous weapons.
Also, the gauss tubes appear to have wounds identical to the brain case, you might want to fix that.

their actually not that hard to kill just 2 shots to the head with a space marine bolter and their down. monoliths insanely hard to kill but its fun. well done mod i liked it very fun to pit against orks, sm, and imperial guard.

Personally I think this is a little pointless but I guess it's his choice :/

Wingwolf's IG might have a shot at killing them, since he uses the Bear Federation's gauss gun for a lasgun, but the lasguns should really do squat against the necrons, since they (should) suck at penetrating armor.

Now I'll admit, the overpowered army of the walking undead coated in living metal (who SHOULD COME BACK TO LIFE I MIGHT ADD) is just something that their enemies have to suffer with.

anyway, I'd imagine that Their Armour capacity is on par with that of the T'au weaponry power (since they're of similar age (i think, i only guess since my contact with WH40K is th DoW games)) so Tau should annihilate them.

and I have to ask, are Ork's parents ACTUAL ORKS!? I mean seriously HOW THE F*** DO YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND HIM! or do you just go yep, uh-huh, haha, sure why not, whenever he says something like you do to those semi-homeless people you see in secondhand shops

With many hard years of schooling at the Xaolin Studio of Understanding Broken English. You can get the gist of what he's saying, and ask for clarification if needed.
Also, you can let it all out, we have a word filter for a reason.

English is a high redundancy language.

You can thank evolution of languages for that.

Okay, so has anyone tried extremely heavy weaponary on the Necron Destroyer's torsos?
Using the Rail Rifle, I managed to get them hurtling accross the battlefield ridculously... they barely take kinetic damage to the torso...
But I have to admit, that was awesomely fun for about half an hour, trying to hit the ones in mid-air with a second round to knock them off the top of the screen...

Eh? They do come back to life sometimes...

One thing I have to commend this mod for is the effects. I like the effects.

Please learn WH40K fluff before you say things like that. Even DoW makes it clear that the Tau are much younger than the Necrons (ancient threat or something like that). You might be thinking about Eldar...
Oh, and the damned race is called TAU, not T'AU, that's their homeworld.

Whut.
The Tau were at the hunter-gatherer stage before the reign of terror or whatever it was called...
Yeah, they're just about the youngest race in WH40K...
Necrons on the other hand, are like ancient.

Also, they seem to almost never respawn when headshotted. Is this intentional?

Has to do with health.

The Warriors always respawn for me, regardless as to what I shoot (and where) them with.
