Post Metroids V2.0 -Modding Theme Entry: Wildlife-
This has been here for a while really and most of you have probably seen this but I just decided this would probably be the best time to release it for everyone to see.

So I present you:
METROIDS
Image
"OMNOMNOMNOM"

Phazon Metroid
Image
"Oooh, Spooky"

Tallon Metroid

Image
Alright so this gif ain't too convincing but they hurt in swarms!

These are no monsters no be tinkered around with on the field!
Once you get one of these bastards on you then they wont get the thought of "OMNOMNOMONOM" Out of their 3 brains untill theres nothing left! They will suck you dry till your body system can't take it no more and eventually explode. These things are best to be taken care of at a distance, but don't be fooled by their innocent, timid, floatiness. Once in range they will shoot at you like a dog on a squirrel rampage. If they do manage to get a hold of you then good luck getting these things off cause they will stick to you like white on rice!

To get your own little critter we have packed one of them in this handy dandy little canister right here (Boy was that fun).
Image
Order one in the bombs section, throw it at your nearest neighborly friend, and run like hell!

Credits go to:
none - Scripting, most of the code
Coops9753 - Spriting and some effect code.

OMG OMG OMG OMG METROIDS!!!

This is really quite remarkable. They're uncontrollable [and rightly so] but could there be an improved way of placing them on the field? Metroid spawner mayhaps?

Really awesome. This one's a keeper.

EDIT: \/ \/ That made me change rating to 10/10

You can just go into the Metroid's .ini and change the
Code:
// AddToGroup = Actors.

To
Code:
 AddToGroup = Actors.

and you can place them manually during the building phase.

Is there any way to make them buyable in the middle of combat?

These things are great, it's hard trying to pick em off your teammates though since they're so durable. I give em a 8/10 for originality, animations and because they're fun to use.

I HATE YOU NOW! Cuteness isn't even a factor in this mod! Why don't you go remininsce with your cute anime crabs! [/RAGE]

But thanks for the rating. I don't even know how you would find these cute though. Phazons are a little creepy. Walking all of a sudden 'BAM!' you got blue all over that ass of yours.

Awesome. 9/10 (sometimes glitchy enemy hunting).

Only things so far (FROM WHAT I HAVE TESTED) that have been able to resist swarms of metroids so far have been siege drones from ZORG industries (provided their bottom is not exposed to the little three brained bastards), the Unitec tank, and the infinite swarms of dummies of Dummy Assault.

Best anti metroid weapon goes to flame throwers of any kind, nuclear bombs of any kind.

Best metroid dodger is by far tay-ar-lard or whatever it's called. You know, the teleporter guy who can teleport and leave the metroids there thinking what the hell just happen to their daily supply of...... life?

9/10, great work.
Minor optimization nitpick that does not affect my score:
Looking at the code, I notice some very redundant actor loops.
Apparently the code finds an actor to hunt, then looks though movable man for the same actor, sets it's velocity, and then looks though movable man again to latch on.
You could just reuse the actor reference, unless there is something I'm missing.

Also repeller guns are great against these.

They should be controllable! That'd be an instant 10/10.
