Post Re: SHIELD: Under Siege
I'm not going to have internet for a few days so I may not be able to solve this for a little while. If not, sorry about that.

Are you getting any console errors or any sudden lag spikes?

After you get that text you should get an objective arrow telling you to move (very) close to Jack and once you're close another one telling you to stay close. Then, once you've stood close to him for a little while you should get more screentext and other stuff triggering, including jack transforming into jack on a stretcher.

If none of this happens there's definitely some problem. Either way I'll run it through while I'm away.
Hope this somehow sorts itself out though :)

Well it seems I've got semi-regular internet after all so I'll be able to reply fairly often if you (or anyone else) needs any more help with anything.

These are really great!

I only have one major frustration.. 'Get to the chopper' etc.. 'Now wait ## time' This would be ok If the drop ship I was waiting for was not RIGHT NEXT to the drop ships of the enemy. This is the worst on the 'office' map lose all lives in about 20 seconds since it drops their troops under yours and their drop ships also crash into yours. >> Not to mention I can't get this map done without making pin hole potshots though walls :/

Other than those gripes I find these scene compilations great so thank you for making them! :)

Hmm, I think the problem there is that I have to use normal dropships now instead of the mammoths I used originally. While the mammoths had pretty good guns the dropships can't kill everything nearby too easily. At some point I'll probably rebalance it or something but I don't really want to right now (I've got other missions I'm working on) so for now I can either wish you good luck or suggest you just take it as a win if you get that far. Or you can complain at Gotcha if you want to get him to put in another heavily armed dropship. No guarantees he'll do it though.

Sorry about that though, hope everything else is still decently playable.

Post Re: SHIELD: Under Siege
My first post:

I just cant complete the Tenements level! It's the same deal every time where I'm almost at the end of the survival countdown and some mug comes out from nowhere. This mug is no ordinary mug though, oh no! For you see he has what is known in mythology as 'bull♥♥♥♥ reflexes' and before you can acknowledge his presence on screen, my actor's head has been slammed into the wall/floor/ceiling/oblivion by a round from this guys Kar98.

It's truly saddening. I think I'll leave that mission for now. Other than this, I'm really enjoying the narrative and the structure of the missions themselves. Taking the player away from RTS style worms play into 'you-da-man-do-the-stuff-or-die-trying' is grawesome. =)

Can't open the game when downloded the missions!?

Abortion on file .\system\contentFile.cpp, line 557, because:

Failed to load datafile object with following path and name:

Maps - Objects/Effects/Safe

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

Any help please?

Did you download Maps - Objects (found in the first post) and run MP3RUNME.bat in the Maps - Objects folder?

Post Re: SHIELD: Under Siege
Every time I try to open the game with this installed, it gives me this:

---------------------------
RTE Aborted! (x_x)
---------------------------
Reading of a preset instance "Ammo Crate 1" of class MOSRotating failed in file Missions - City.rte/Scenes/Suburbs.ini, shortly before line #3304

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

You can copy this message with Ctrl+C
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I ran the MP3RUNME thingy just before and it still won't work.

Check your base.rte\scenes.ini file.
At the bottom of the file the following line should be there:
Code:
IncludeFile = Maps - Objects/Index.ini

If it's not there, please add it. :)

I think maybe some large, bright red text is in order, so people don't keep making the same mistake about running mp3runme.bat.

Thanks, it works now. Although whenever I try to start that last mission of chapter 2, it says something like "Dry flats was NOT started due to errors". If it could at least tell me what kind of errors, then maybe I could fix it, but until then, it's completely broken.

Also, what the hell is up with that "Meanwhile" level? First I'm getting attacked by green lasers, then it starts raining blood, and then that giant ass demon monster starts attacking me. That one took me completely by surprise.

Sir, I'm on vacation now and can't check out what's wrong with it. Can you at least show what's going on in the console when it fails?

And that thing with blood rain and demon is just a secret level.
