"Alright, remember that this is a damaged vessel. There isn't going to be any pressurization and there are probably sharp odds and ends sticking out everywhere. Stay observant and take things slow. I'm ready when you guys are."

Search for a working console that had access to an internal history database.

"Yeah, yeah that's all fine and dandy, more importantly as the highest ranking member of this party, loot acquisition and distribution is to be managed by me. Oh, and if we find any biotic forms of life, shoot to kill, I don't get paid enough to deal with that ♥♥♥♥."

"What do you mean by loot? We're not going over there to grab health potions or some crap. This ain't a fantasy adventure, y'know."
Hohoho touching the 4th wall.

"Now lets crack this baby open, shall we? I'll try and find some weaponry for the ship. Maybe some actual proper warheads."

Guh. Going to try to get an update this weekend. Been drained of inspiration and energy, and busy with a couple of other projects.

That and I've kinda been playing quite a bit of Blacklight again now that Onslaught mode is out.

Ha. Ha. You didn't think it would be that easy, did you?

Previous musical interlude still applicable.

——————————————————————————————————————

EVA Team (Ralph, Hierophant, Rixie, Jones)

SARA cycles the airlock once you're done buddy-checking each other's suits. The 'flight' over to the nearest wreck is quiet and uneventful, although you can't shake the feeling you're being watched.

Regardless, your team manages to locate an entry point to the ship that was picked out - it seems the ship had an open hangar that normally maintained atmosphere with some kind of energy field. You can see where blast doors might be, but it's likely that they weren't closed in time. The ship itself seems to be in relatively good condition compared to some of the wrecks off in the distance, and might actually be more flightworthy than your current ship. But it's also obviously a military ship, still wearing military colours. Maybe not a wise thing to be flying around in unknown space...

Externally, the ship is quite long and sleek in design, possesses four oversized drive pods, and a nice array of gun turrets - along with what appear to be four forward-facing missile tubes. The hull is painted in very dark olive-ish green, with lighter vertical stripes in a sort of tiger-ish pattern. It has distinctive bright red trim on certain parts.

Internally, the ship definitely seems to have been designed by, or at the very least for, humans or humanoids. The internal aesthetics are fairly simple, spartan, and not entirely unreminiscent of the inside of an Alliance Navy warship. The written language appears to be quite unfamiliar, almost runic in design. Fortunately the doors appear to have manual opening systems for when the ship is low on power, but these won't be any help if the door was locked prior to power going out.

The hangar itself is relatively small, and devoid of craft save for a small and battered-looking transport shuttle you suspect will be of considerable help in moving any spoils back to your home ship. It looks like there's a pad for another one of these shuttles, and two overhead clamps for smaller vessels of some kind.

With power offline, so is artificial gravity. Still, now that you're inside, you can opt to use the magnetic soles in your boots.

Whilst you're getting oriented, SARA chimes in helpfully;

"This ship is in significantly better condition than I calculated. Please exercise caution. Based on the general design of the vessel, I suspect the reactor will be towards the rear of the ship. You may wish to consider restarting it to expedite your progress through the ship -- assuming I can bypass the security systems once they come back online."

OPTIONS:

Power:
A) Attempt to restore power to the ship. This would restore atmospherics, artificial gravity, and reboot any security systems.
B) Do not restore power to the ship. Atmospherics, artificial gravity, and security systems would all remain offline.

Objective:
1) Head to the reactor area before jumping to any conclusions about what to do with it.
2) Ignore the reactor and head for the bridge.
3) Ignore the reactor and try to find the main computer core.

VOTE! One vote in each category. You have until this time next week to discuss the matter in-character. You may also suggest your own objective options if you wish.

Quote:
17:45 - Caek: Hey Arcalane, I'm a bit confused by the vote system.
17:46 - Caek: Are we not allowed to mention alternate plans till next week if they are in character?
17:47 - Arcalane: no, you're free to talk amongst yourselves and decide what to do. those are just prompts/cues to work with. next week is when actual action based on results of discussion occurs.
17:47 - Caek: Ah, right.

I will be 'hands off' until the defined date. You can post freely, interact amongst yourselves, and nose around the hangar/shuttle as much as you like -- I'll respond if necessary -- just don't try to go wandering off without each other.

"Alright, here's what I think we should do."

"Firstly, we should avoid turning the power on, since we have no idea if this ship has an automatic distress beacon or some kind of nasty automatic gun turrets on the inside. People tend to be fond of those. Besides, if there is an auto beacon, it might attract pirates or something. They'd love to get their hands on a ship in distress."

"We should head to the computer core where we can hopefully disconnect the distress beacon and the security systems from the computer core, then we can turn the reactor on with no problems at all. That way, we still get power, but with no chance of being shot or being attacked by pirates."

"I class that as win win, by the way."

"Also, this is a hanger and also a warship. But the hanger is definitely too small to be for a carrier. So, I'm thinking this part of the ship would've been used for either a few fighters, or for a ground support craft. Either would mean that there would be a magazine nearby where the ordnance would be kept for the docked crafts. We should probably try and find that part of the ship, if we can."

Take a look around the hanger for any signs of where the magazines might be.

"Oh, and, just because the lights are out doesn't mean nobody is home. Stay safe, guys."

Code:
possible to function without air or gravity,
not possible to function with hundreds bullet wound.

Concur that we should leave for the computer core.

"Bah, I was going to suggest we turn the power on first thing, but it seems you lot have no sense of adventure, no matter."

"As with our second objective, I say we send the robot down to the reactor and Ralph to the core, while Jones and I check up on the bridge. Without power there shouldn't be any threats lurking around so we can safely split up, with that in mind everyone should still keep an eye out for tripwires and the like, we have no idea what sort of people were on this ship."

"FURTHER more, if the power does come on for some reason, we re-group at the hanger, got it? I don't want anyone getting lost and killed if the ship self destructs or some ♥♥♥♥."

"Sounds good to me. Also, if SARA can get this ship moving remotely, assuming it's abandoned, it'd look like it's an escort for the Chan. A military vessel would probably give pirates a second thought before jumping the gun."
