Post Best controller for CC?
Simple question, from your experience what would be the best type of controller to get, simple D-Pad with shoulders and 4 or so buttons on left, a controller same as latter with dual analogs, or a joystick? I would imagine the joystick would be cool for dropships and rockets but not troops.....

BTW I got some Logitech d-pad controllers somewhere for SNES emulator, I'm gonna hook them up in a few days when I got time to look for them.

Y'know the intro itself recommends xbox 360 gamepads.

With the old SNES styled controllers, you can't crouch.
Or at least it wouldn't give me the option to anyways.

Anything except the keyboard and mouse is too inaccurate for me. The only disadvantage to the 360 controller is that you can't angle the jetpack without looking somewhere else, making it harder to shoot things while flying and maintain the flight course you want.

The best controller for CC is your good ol' everyday keyboard, not one of them fancy gamepads.

Why keyboard is best, you may wonder?
Well, the game was originally made to use keyboard controls, and throughout builds it achieved perfection.

Stick with keyboard, no other control method in CC beats it.

Best thing in my opinion is the keyboard and mouse. Does the job and does it well.

If you have skill and want precision but not speed, keyboard.
If you are like speed (or can't do keyboard, ie. me) use Mouse and keyboard.
Gamepad for least amount of precision, with no benefits over mouse.

Edit: Gamepad would win if Data let us map switch weapon and reload and stuff like that to pad.

Edit 2: Don't use 360 pad, Jesus Christ. It's Microsoft, people.

That's where you are wrong.
Keyboard or keyboard/mouse is the best for solo play, yes.
But with two players it can get a little cramped sharing a keyboard, and it's basically impossible with three or more.

That is where gamepads are better.

Controllers can help you to fly backwards while facing the front(dunno about keyboard though).

That's something a mouse cannot do.

I find the xbox controller better to use, except for sniping, which the mouse is better for.

Unless you're playing two player, in which case, sniping is impossible for mouse.

Also, keyboard is a lot slower, but you can adjust your aim to more degrees than mouse.
