Post Help for my friend.
The extent of this problem I have no clue about, but he described it to me via MySpace message as such:

My Friend wrote:
Well, put simply... the screen is completely black. No start bar, no icons, nothing. the only way I can get to the internet is by Ctrl+alt+del and going to new task.


Any ideas?

Most likely the explorer.exe going crazy

There was a windows update that made it auto restart if it crashed,

But .. ctrl alt del, new task explorer.exe

To fix, id say make sure windows is all up to date, and remove any unstable programs

Edit:

Theres also ad-ware and junk that does this.. Do a virus scan and a ad aware scan

Tell him to try to boot it up in safe mode and see if that fixes his problem.

If it does tell me then I will tell him what to do next.
