 Any way to get the skirmish game mode into a campaign map?

Post Any way to get the skirmish game mode into a campaign map?
I have this map with lua running in it where things spawn at certain intervals, which of course doesn't work if you open it through the skirmish menu. Is there any way to have the skirmish game mode work in a campaign map?

Have an object emulate activites. Do note that set player brain function will fail outside of an activity.
