Vista basic has less features than XP. And Vista spies on you. But Vista Premium is still = to XP.

No, I have Vista Home Premium and after you customize the hell out of it it's 100 times better than XP, especially with the addition of DirectX 10, just so you can say that you have it.

Flat-out disable it. Not the best thing for security, but you're not any worse than you would be with XP.

talking about applications is not against the rules.

talking about the execution of warez, the hunt for warez, what warez you use, and such is against the rules.

Maybe you should consider whining less, whitty. Its not the moderating staffs fault you dont know how to obey rules.

Thank you for not locking thread and such. Please put in your input on this subject, oh THOR.

Make sure you're running a good antivirus as well.

As long as you have anti-virus, whats wrong with disabling the UAC? (Thing that asks you) It's not like it takes away anything that XP had. You'll still have just as much security. And if you're not a complete retard, you won't get viruses anyways.

Complaining about Vista asking you to do everything is not a valid arguement against Vista.

It's pretty much the only operating system league out there that's meant for gaming.

Thats nice. Its not an operating system "meant for gaming."

There is nothing about Windows that makes it "for gaming," besides the fact that its the only operating systme popular enough to warrant spending billions of dollars and millions of man-hours of development time creating applications.

There is nothing special about Windows that makes it a better operating system for games besides its market penetration.

I guess as technical evidence, some games have been known to get better FPS on Linux under WINE (!) than XP, on the same system. So yeah, it's all about the marketshare. :???:
