Re: How to make this forum better
Quote: LEGALIZE GRAMMAR NAZISM Thats a bad idea. Yelling at people because the spell bad can make them leave the forum which makes Data loose money and customers. It is also bad for us because what if the person getting flamed is the next Armbotics or Ropeface? Also why does everyone want to take away the sigs that we just got back? (Just a question) I like Tostys warning system. EDIT: WJ also said he believes in free speech so that rule is obviously out anyway.

General Rules
Ban Scale: 1. Warning. 2. Second warning. 3. 1 day ban. 4. 2 day ban. 5. 3 day ban. 6. 1 week ban. 7. Permaban. One step is taken on the Ban Scale in the event of:
Flames: - Blatant personal attacks. - Racism, sexism, etc. - ALLCAPS. - Flames will be judged on an individual basis.
Necroing: - Necroable topics are topics in which the last response was made > 2 weeks ago. - You may necro a topic ONLY if: * You have constructive critcism. "ur sprite sux." is not constructive. "This mod needs a better sprite." is. Also, if the posts before you have said the mod is bad, don't necro it to agree with them. * Are reporting a problem with the mod. * Are reporting a problem with the topic (broken link, etc.). * Are the OP, and have an update/conversion of a mod.
1337speak: - d0 n07 p0s7 1yk d1s 3var. u r not 1337. (Sarcastic posts may be exempted.)
Reporting posts: Do it. The report button is there for a reason.
General - For discussion of Cortex Command not related to modding. EX: What will be in the new build, suggestions for Cortex Command, something cool that happened when playing Cortex Command.
Art - For discussion of Cortex Command's art (sprites, etc.) or the posting of Cortex Command related fan art.
Audio - For discussion of sounds/music used in Cortex Command.
Mod Making - For discussion of modding and making requests for mods. * Be specific in requests. * When asking for help, provide as much information as you can. - Make an attempt to learn how to mod before asking for help. - Read the stickies. //Suggestion: Change the *** Need Help With Modding? Read This. *** topic to a section announcement, not global announcment. //Suggestion: Lose the General Request Thread.
Scene Making - For discussion of scene making and making requests for scenes * Be specific in requests. * When asking for help, provide as much information as you can.
Mods - Only fully working mods here. WIP mods are for Mod Making. - Credit all who helped you (if any) within the OP.
Scenes - Only fully working scenes here. WIP scenes are for Scene Making. - Credit all who helped you (if any) within the OP.
General Discussion - For off-topic discussion. - No advertising.
//Suggestion: Lose the F.A.Q. section. Nobody uses it, nobody likes it.
Forum Feedback - For the reporting of problems with the forum. - For discussion of adding/removing features to the forum.
I'll go make topics in each section for these right now if there's no problem. Open to suggestions/debate.

Re: How to make this forum better
those are good, but you might want to explain them all a bit further if you do a global post for new rules.

Re: How to make this forum better
necoring, because some people think that constructive critisism is something like: nobody wrote: wow. just wow. this the worst mod ever, it has a terrible sprite, and has been done hundreds of times. because i see necroes like this every now and then. not recently, but i have.

No racism and sexism? What if it's used as part of a joke?

Re: How to make this forum better
I think that the only person that can report for a flame is the flamee, since a third party may not realise that a flame is in jest and that the flamer and flamee are friends.
Then you have people being punished for a flame that insulted noone.

Re: How to make this forum better
Weelll, I dunno. Say two people get into a flame war, when does it stop being "a joke?" By saying that, you suggest that mod needs permission from someone in the flamewar to stop it, kind of. Besides, a well placed smiley can very effectively convey the levity of the situation, you pus-munching douche bag of an ass-whore. EDIT: This just in. Add a line about not having ASCII art taller than 1 line (I'm looking at you, DiviX). Maybe have an exception if it's wrapped in

tags?

Re: How to make this forum better
If I had it my way... Code: 1. Don't be racist or homophobic. * ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is racist * Raghead is racist * All mexicans smell is racist * All muslims are terrorists is racist * gentleman, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥ are all homophobic 2. Take time with your posts. Do NOT type things like OMFG or plz thx. Type real sentences. Type as if you were applying for a job. 3. Don't post money making schemes, outwar crap or free ipod ♥♥♥♥. 4. When starting a new post use a descriptive topic. You will be banned for a day if you use a topic like "sum cool ♥♥♥♥" or "wow check this out!" or "funny stuff". 5. Don't reply to trolls. Just report their posts and they be dealt with.

We should be nicer and grow into a large community. Tight asses should be punished severely.
Ironically making our moderators look like tight asses :/

Re: How to make this forum better
I'm new here, and I am honestly scared now.
Looking at James's other thread, you can be horrible, horrible people sometimes. What, did you all take angry pills that day? Did some person you like have something illegitamatley bad done to them? Seriously wtf?
I go to another forum, and it let me know that not all forums are as insane as this one, and that you guys can bring it togther if you don't flame as much, calm down about shading and sprites, and work together to make a forum where we can laugh at History's Push, and plead and beg Data for updates in peace.
