Ok, now I worked more on the gore and NOW its really kickin arse!
Heres a picture of a corpse in the debris after decapitation:

I think I'll make the emission a bit more frequent though. Seems a little too rare right now.
And then the next problem that I had is finally fixed: The mercenary can fit inside a bunker corridor now! :D

And then I designed a bullet color code and critical hits for weapons!
Right now the assault rifles have this feature and heres a picture demonstrating what I mean:

The brighter one is the critical shot and it does slightly more damage than the ordinary bullet. It works well!

The Gore system on the merc can be ported to any actor easily because the intial code is all in one file and has lots of comments to help using it effectively.

I've been working on the torso's gibs and the merc's body gibs such as bones, spine, meatballs, organs and such. I learned some cool facts about human's vital organs on wiki while making these. Never though modding could have been educational too... x )


Now as I'm nearly done with the graphical and code side, I lack those juicy sounds and voices/sounds for the mercenary himself. The mercenary should sound like a really tough guy (Hint: Arnold S., Mr T ect ect.). If you have any good sounds for a tough guy like this or general gore sounds like blood splats, bone cracks, blood bursts or other disqusting sounds that would fit with the gore.

So if you have any gore related sounds, please post them here
or give me a link where I can find some good ones!


Please pack em up and PM them to me or just give a link if you know a good place for finding them.

Well, you did use the UT2k4 voices for the AAL marines. Those are perfect for these guys. More variety for the heads would be cool though.

I guess I can try and rip some of the gore noises from Gears of War.

Someone should try an get the gore sounds out of Soldier of Fortune 2.

I'll check it out, although I still think the best death noise in any videogame ever is either
a) an unreal tournament complete gib, and that splattering noise it makes when all your chunky bits hit the ground.
b) our very own green clone's death noise. "hwerrghk"

Make self-brewed sounds? Heh, I do have a mic, but my voice isnt as rough and grunty as the merc would need. Probably I'll export some juggernaut voice effects from Ut2k4 and have them as the merc's voice. That'd suit his "URGH I EAT BUNKERS AND BLEED CONCRETE" style.

As for the gore splattery sounds, you can still send me those if you have any.
I'll see if UT has some good ones and I'll check out if I can dig up anything from findsounds.com.


Also I just completed the gore system for the merc. Its all done, maybe a few tweaks while I'll be testing the weapons.

And as for the weapons, I completed and perfected the first 4 weapons in the arsenal. They look and feel great and such.


I'll be working on the weapons now.

Meanwhile send me any gore effect sounds and suggest a cool design for the craft that the merc's will own. Either a droppod or a landable rocket.
Deviantart.com is a good source. You can post links to any cool designs if youre bored/want to help.

Numgun, for gore sounds, see if you can get the meaty splat sound from UT2k4. You know the one.

For the craft, I like the idea of something crude and tough, like a stumpy rocket with high impulse damage that just falls out of the sky, but can get out of the ground again once it's landed.

You should make a quake/deathmatch style map. With Emitters as "Spawn points",
That hopefully using Lua you could prompt to spawn a marine at the death of your original one.

And have emitters around the map that spawn guns and whatnot, so you pick them up and shizzzzz, and they could have pretty lights around them.
