 Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
I can't believe noones suggested Painkiller: Heavens got a hitman I loved that game. It's amazing to say its the companies first game. Run around killing loads of guys with an array of obscure weapons including a gun that shoots shuriken and lightning? Can't go wrong there my friend. Give it a go, I got it for £3 in a bargain bin at a game store.

 Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
Ooooooooooook. Well I'm all for this but it looks like this thread has now become a long list of possible games. I'll take the initiative here and go through it tomorrow and prune things a bit and hit you guys up with a definitive list. May I also suggest that Steam is pretty much the key to this whole operation. I mean we already have a steam group for DRL (although it could use some improvements (i.e. people using it)). So here's what you do. If you don't have one, get a Steam account. It's free (hooray!), you don't have to buy Valve games to use it, so you have no excuse. Once we have everybody on Steam and in the group, its a fairly trivial matter to get games going, on-the-fly or scheduled in advance with Steam's handy event calendar (go us!). We can use the forums here for voting on "that week's game" and such. So that's that, as they say. This does not preclude the XBL option either. We can schedule games over XBL too, so those of you who are console only aren't left out. Honestly, Halo wasn't meant to be played on a PC anyway . The best of both world will be ours for the taking. And with that, I say good day, DRL. And see you on the battlefield.

Give it a go, I got it for £3 in a bargain bin at a game store. Yahtzee himself liked it for the exact same reason. Tron 2.0 is pretty much the only game I've ever picked out of the bargain bin, but I liked it. Still, if it's obscure, it's a good bet that we can't organize a game here, unless the game is free. Now someone actually set a date, a time, a game, and a server, or this thread will have served very little use.

 Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
Alright folks. Here's the dizzle. I complied all the rambling suggestions yous guys spouted out in a handy spreadsheet so yous can see a list of games other DRLtards are interested in. Links included for more fun times. Then I pruned that list to games that a lot of you are likely to have and weeded out entries that are obscure and such. Spreadsheet lives HERE. Don't hate if your favorite game wasn't picked. This does NOT mean we're not going to play it or some ♥♥♥♥. Just mention you want to get a game together to peoples in IRC, in this thread, or to me via PM, IRC, AIM/MSN, Steam, XBL, etc. Which brings me to this matter at hand. Here is all of my contact info if needed: Xbox Live: FatalFlux Steam: FatalFlux X-Fire (I'm never on): FatalFlux AIM: Mister NetHead MSN: misternethead@hotmail.comMost of that's available on my forum profile. Anyway. Next up is you joining the Data Realms Steam group if you haven't already. We'll try to use that to schedule things. It has a nice calendar and if you have Steam running all the time, like most of us do I imagine, it pops up a nice reminder when an event is beginning. And with that. I do believe we should schedule our first game for this weekend. Saaaaaay, TF2 on Friday sometime? Anybody have any awesome servers? Anybody want to host a server perhaps? EDIT: Please for ♥♥♥♥'s sake feel free to keep adding games to the list. I'll update the spreadsheet every few days.

TF2 sounds good.
Cinos and I play on this 24/7 BlackMesa server, the only problem is it always seems to be close to full.

 Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
OK so the first weekly "pickup" game is this Friday, January 17th at 7:30pm CST.
If there are no objections to the time, I'll see you guys there! Happy fragging.

 Re: Weekly Pick-up Games
i already said this a page or two back(and everyone ignored it) 2 great games for source that are free Dystopia(great cyberpunk attack defend type game) Zombie Panic(excellent online zombie survivor mod with its own playstyle) both games would be great to play as a group in and since you just need the sdk base more people will be playing. http://www.dystopia-game.com/http://www.zombiepanic.org/site/index.php
