LOLSWINEFLU

Mild colds knock me down for ages.

Seriously it's just flu except pigs can have it but not if you cook them so really I think there's nothing to worry about.
Most pork isn't that good any way, we could just wipe pigs off the face of the earth! that would be perfect!
No risk of getting a mild flu now!

HERE'S WHY WE SHOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT SWINEFLU (or type A):
- Avian flu was a lot scarier than this, and what happened to it? The media stopped covering it once it realised it couldn't get away with telling us we're all going to die.
- my numbers may be a tiny bit out, but the death toll is STILL under 200 (and I'm pretty sure it's 10 confirmed deaths: I'm sure people die of those symptoms in Mexico city, the most polluted city on earth, an awful lot, without the aid of pigs.)
- There is a vaccine already.
- Pork has to be cooked to blazes anyway, as if you eat it and it's not properly cooked, YOU'LL DIE.

What people need to realise is that:
- the symptoms are pretty much the same as normal flu. DO NOT GO APESHIT IF YOU GET A BAD COLD.
- It's a media beat up. It might have been a problem, but it isn't. WE'RE NOT GOING TO DIE.

And I'm even less worried because, in Australia, I have a nice big ocean around me keeping all the sick mexicans out.

CALM THE BEEF MIN

I do believe his use of hyperbole indicates that he was being sarcastic. (-_-" annoyed lack of genderless pronouns)

Yeah, but you can't get aids from a cough.

Yeah but swine flu has a vaccine and isn't permanent or transferred in the one action people will always do no matter how many people tell them not to.

To reiterate what has been said in a way that succinctly answers the original question...

Swine flu is a global pandemic that has been blown out of proportion.

AIDS is so crazy because it mutates.

Somehow, I don't think thata widespread vaccination will work.</I seriouslydonotbeliveinthosecrackpotstheories, theyarejustandexample>

But anyway, odds are that Swine Flu is just a panic.

Unless it mutates fast enough to pick up either deadliness(mix with H5N1), or resistance(to things like Tamiflu). Though so can any flu mutate those characteristics.

Reputable. And objective too.

In case you were wondering, that was sarcasm.
