Anime Chat
So... I like anime, and I want to chat with other people who also like anime. Oh. Manga's included, too. My (Most likely incomplete.) list of anime and manga that I've read and watched are: Clannad: Loved it. Kobato: Not done, but I like it. Bleach: Halfway, hate. Yu Yu Hakusho: Same as Bleach. Azumanga Daioh!: Meh. Nichijou: Meh. Good to waste time on. Ika Musume: Quite funny. The World God Only Knows: Very good, but it starting to get weird... Esprit: Good battle scenes so far. Fortune Arterial: I liked the story a lot. Kanon: This was interesting, although I can't put it in my favorites list. Yokuwakaru Gendai Mahou: This is probably the best or second best anime that I've watched that focuses on magic. Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica: I cried a lot. Especially in episode 10. I think. Very good anime. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha: I watched up to the fifth or so episode of StrikerS. My favorite Mahou Shoujo anime. Lucky Star: I nearly laughed my head of on some parts... I think. K-On!: Incredible anime! Music's great. Lilpri: It seems a bit kiddy, but still a good anime. Okay... A LOT kiddy. Who cares, though? SKET Dance: The characters that send in requests to the club are quite wacky, so it's quite funny to see what they do. Tenshi no Hane to Akuma no Shippo: This is a very far off manga, but it's SUPER DUPER good. H20: Footprints in the Sand: This is a pretty serious anime. Well, watch through the credits until they end in the last episode.) Shugo Chara: The main characters are... Amazing. It's an entertaining anime. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: I only got up to... The one after Onikakushi-hen. It's at least a decent anime. Tasogare Otome x Amnesia: This story is hilarious. Kinda scary in some parts, though. Hayate no Gotoku: The most random comedy ever. It's funny, though. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: This... Is... Random... In every kind of way. It's also a must watch. There're probably around twenty or so more, but I forgot their names.

Re: Anime Chat
I find anime to generally be terrible, because most of it is the same cookie-cutter crap with incredibly cliche characters and half of the ♥♥♥♥ I've seen is basically the same show but with a different coat of paint. Interestingly enough, out of the few anime that I didn't abhor, you hate one of them. I like Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note was interesting until they killed off L and replaced him with a teenager and a psycho little kid (oh boy, never seen that before!), and if there's nothing on that I was planning on watching, sometimes I'll watch Bleach.

The only one I eventually did like was Hunter X Hunter.

You can basically say this about any type of show/music/food/whatever. You have to find the good stuff. I don't watch a lot of anime but the ones I've liked are: Fooly Cooly: I cannot describe. Just go watch it. I'm serious it's amazing and indescribable. Gurren Lagann: Glorious manly journey. Has mechs but not about mechs. Pretty solid story about underdogs overcoming overwhelming odds. Afro Samurai: Samuel L. Jackson plays a samurai. That's all you need to know. Ouran High School Host Club: This is my MLP. I think it's meant for little girls but it's ♥♥♥♥ hilarious. Chobits: Also kind of a girly show.

Re: Anime Chat
I didn't included FLCL because it was only a six-episode miniseries, but yeah, that one was ♥♥♥♥' funny. Nothing in that, at all, was unoriginal. Granted, it was ♥♥♥♥ up as a result, but yeah. In a good way.

Re: Anime Chat
I've watched some One Piece and Bleach. I've also finished FMA, good stuff. I should watch brotherhood.
Planning on watching gundam, maybe naruto some time later.
The Haruhi series is sort of strange, but I should watch it. I've read the book, and I like it. I've had some trouble finding the episodes in chronological order.

Re: Anime Chat
I love anything made by Studio Ghibli. Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind are my favourites.
EDIT: Oh, and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is funny. Still haven't gotten around to watching all of them yet.

Re: Anime Chat
I've not seen much anime, but what I have seen I've rather enjoyed.
Ouran I'm halfway through, and I've finished a horror themed one called Kemonozume. Seen Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Re: Anime Chat
Evangelion - pretty much the best anime I've ever seen in my quite extensive collection
Berserk -
Full Metal Alchemist - The original is quite better, the second one is just too compressed and they left out some of the really good points.
Trigun - A 7 foot tall blond cowboy who refuses to kill people. That should be enough to get you interested.
Cowboy bebop - a bounty hunter in spaaaaaace
Ghost in the Shell - Japanese version of a pre-matrix era.
Once you're done with these just go watch everything ghibli makes.

Re: Anime Chat
I think the first anime I ever saw was Spirited Away, I really liked it. Now I watch: Full Metal Alchemist: liked it, to me it missed a bit though... can't remember the ending FMA: Brotherhood: I actually like this better, it has a more branching storyline. Inuyasha: love it Ghost in the Shell: love it GitS: SAC: Really love it the rest I can't remember... oh well

Re: Anime Chat
Oh so you're one of those Hyper?
You can tell I'm not a hardcore anime fan by the fact that I only watch dubs.

Awwwww yeeee. /brofist activate By the way I can't really understand why a lot of anime fans learn Japanese just to watch anime. Thats ♥♥♥♥ retarded. Just go watch a dub, it's literally just the same show in a language that you actually speak.

Re: Anime Chat
Except for the extremely bad voice acting. Just get some subtitles.

Re: Anime Chat
The major reason for me to watch it subbed rather than dubbed is that dub voices sound out of character. At least with the original Japanese voices, they typically have better voice actors, even if it's in moonspeak.
