Re: Let's Play X-COM: UFO DEFENSE - Captain's Log
Wayyyyy too short, especially given the size of it. Music's nice and the gameplay was decent though.

I think they simplified X-COM too much for the new one. The geoscape seems to function more like a board game, and you can't have multiple bases(?).
That said, going to preorder it as soon as I physically can.

That said, going to preorder it as soon as I physically can. You have one main base, plus launching centers for your interceptors and you get a satellite network to manage as well.

That's not really the same though. In the original you could have your very first base completely wiped out without losing.
Only being able to have one central base of operations seems like it'll change the dynamics - I'm not sure how that'll work out personally.

They axed base invasions, IIRC, so that's not as much of an issue. I assume the aliens will probably still try to attack it (or your sub-bases) somehow, but an actual invasion? Nah.

would it be possiable for me to adopt a soldier with the name of COmissionar Kain?
On a related site note, Only having played UFO Afterlight, UFO Aftermatch (both quite gun games might i add) and the recent x-com enemy unknown, Is the Older X-com games worth getting?

Completely. The first game especially has actually aged really well.
