 Re: Art Dump
Possibly because beards aren't solid objects like the head or helmet is, so they shouldn't be shaded in the same way. Unfortunately, i don't know how to shade beards yet, but am vaguely working on learning to do so. :I

 Re: Art Dump
Probably want to throw some shadowed beard pixels in there too, for where the beard absorbs light as well as reflects it.

 Re: Art Dump
Likely yes. I will also have to look at some real beards at some point, it's obvious that my minds eye needs more information on beards before it is able to form a correct one. :v but in the meantime i have doodled more things these were amusing to doodle

 Re: Art Dump
Some perspective practice (school assignment) and random anime grill from few days ago Shook, I liked that lying dragon and how you posed it with him lying with his neck turned over one of his arms. It's worth thinking about how the body is constructed, like the shoulder bone and muscles would cause a bump where they connect to the body which you could see from that angle, and the lower arm probably would extend less because it's coming from under the other side of his body/neck. And the head looked like it would connect more to the right. Pls ignore the dissapearing rock

 Re: Art Dump
Usually pointy chin and low-ish puffy cheeks I start with drawing a sphere for the skull dome, aproximately, then underneath draw the part for the cheeks/jawline/chin, which is usually relatively small on manga/anime chars. If you make it wider and with puffier cheeks they'll look younger and vice versa (as in rl but amplified). There's really nothing wrong with yours though, just that anime styled faces most of the time have these odd pointy chins.

 Re: Art Dump
If the eyes do not occupy at least 70% of the face, you're doing it wrong, baka.

It doesn't surprise me that i got alignment and stuff wrong, given that i didn't make a "skeleton" drawing of this guy at all. Everything you said is totally legit, although regarding the shoulder, i'm thinking of it more like a cat's front limbs, which don't have quite as pronounced a shoulder bump (although i suppose this could be because cats are fuzzy little blighters, i haven't shaved a cat to find out how its shoulder looks in that position). Nevermind that the arm is also WAY too small for a dragon of that size, that's just me being terrible at proportions. :v
